Rock Region METRO sells surplus vehicles and equipment to the general public when it becomes available. Vehicles include buses and paratransit vans that have outlived their useful lives according to Federal Transit Administration regulations.
METRO sells surplus equipment and vehicles on publicsurplus.com, which is open to the public and takes bids in a fair and transparent manner. All proceeds from each METRO sale are returned to the agency’s operating budget and used to support transportation activities.
