Contactless Credit Cards Now Accepted On Board Fixed Route & Microtransit Vehicles

Beginning Monday, April 20, METRO riders may use contactless credit or debit cards for fare payment on board fixed route buses and METRO Connect microtransit vehicles. Simply tap the credit or debit card on the farebox and go!

Cards must be equipped with wireless technology that allows tap-to-pay. All major credit cards are accepted, excluding American Express. Mobile wallets, including those on Apple and Google smartwatches, are also accepted. Transfer passes cannot be purchased using a credit or debit card.

Note: Before tapping your card on the farebox, let the operator/driver know if you are paying for a child or other discount fare first. Otherwise, the farebox will default to charging full adult fare.
